The use of light and lack of strong contrast adds a note of loss or loneliness. The monochromatic tone highlights the feeling of desolation.
The broken piano, lying in pieces in the middle of the room hearken back to better days of grandeur and life, now missing from this place, as it falls to ruins, to be reclaimed back by nature, like lost notes drifting away on a now quiet breeze.
Broken, dirty, ignored and abandoned. It seems as there is little hope left for this place, except to await the inevitable time when ghostly notes ring back on the ultimate nothingness, for no one to hear.

Well...that's how it sees me, anyway.

Really, nicely done!

Oh god, how can a photo be so monochromatic and yet be so vivid?

Crikey, the piano's knackered! The legs have completely gone by the looks of it. Very intriguing and moody.
Lots of footprints too…

This might be my favorite so far. The subtle colors, the emotion of the broken piano... *big happy sigh*  ...this one might be awesome as a print.  I might need one.  Would it be too much hanging above a working piano?
